Pugfest was great today, Junior was dressed as a devil. We found another pug dressed as a nun, and we had many pictures taken together. The local newspaper got a bunch of shots of us, and I will be looking forward to tomorrows newspaper. Perhaps I will have a moment of fame! I just finished designing a website for an engineering organization I am in, check it out at Mohawk Hudson IES and give me your opinion. The site is in its premature form, I will be working on it more as I have time. For the mean time, I needed to replace the existing one, because it was an eye sore.

Just got back from Minado, an all you can eat Sushi and Japanese food buffet. So good, it’s painful. I just finished fixing BOTH of my computers, my desktop had a nasty virus I tried to remove for two days, and couldn’t resolve, so I ended up re-installing Windows XP. The same day I got the virus, my laptop screen stopped working, and I had to have Dell come and replace it. What are the odds of both of my computers having issues at the same time, for the same duration?
Sometimes I wish the weekend wouldn’t end. Maybe it’s because Christa is gone until 10:15PM Mon-Wed, or maybe its because I know I have a ton of projects due next week at work. Either or, I vote to have a three day weekend every week. I feel I would be much more productive after three days of rest and relaxation. I found 7 Geocaches yesterday, which is an all time high for me. After all is said, I could still use another weekend day. Happy Monday everyone!
Our pug Junior is just about a year and a half now, and he has been crate trained for his whole life. Christa has been bringing it up that she thinks it is time for him to sleep in our bed at night. I am beginning to think the same thing, especially when I see Junior jump up into the bed and lay down when I am using the computer, etc.. I am considering buying a liner for my mattress just to be safe, you never know if he will want to claim the bed as new territory. Does anyone have experience making this transition? Have any funny stories about your dog relating to your bed (I know what your thinking sicko!
)? I really need to know what I am getting myself into before I take this leap.
See more pictures of Junior HERE, the third section is devoted to him.
I had a pretty interesting conversation with a fellow environmental engineer at my company today, while we were driving to a site for some inspections. I started asking him what his thoughts on renewable energy were, wind energy specifically, and the conversation leaded to global warming. In the brief time we talked, I gathered that he was very anti-global warming, and his opinion was that it is a very exaggerated theory. He was talking about weather trends and how if you simply look back 10 years, you can see how the earth was actually at a cold point, because of sun spot migration, and other naturally occurring phenomenon. I don’t know what to say about global warming because I have not done enough research on the matter. I agreed with a lot of what he said, but I would like to get some more opinions on the topic. What are your opinions on the topic of Global Warming?
After that I brought up the topic of Carbon, and how I felt it was a growing problem, and he concurred. He was telling me about carbon sequestration efforts (planting trees and other plant life to offset carbon usage), and how he felt that these efforts in combating carbon emissions would never be sufficient to have a significant impact on our efforts to dispose of carbon. I agree with him on this point, because I see the sequestration programs as a “feel good” solution to the problem. What I mean is that most people in higher positions know we can not combat carbon emissions easily, because we are so addicted to oil, and also because of vested interests in the oil industry, and they need to do something to make the public feel better about driving SUV’s and burning oil byproducts for energy. Welcome to America….
I got this in an email today and it made me smile, so I thought I would share.
President Bush said each of us is getting a $600 tax incentive. It was supposed to be $800 but was lowered due to budget issues. If we spend the money at Wal-Mart, it goes to China. If we spend it on computers it goes to India or China. If we spend it on gas it goes to the Arabs. The only way to keep the $ here is to spend it on beer, gambling, and prostitutes.

DING-DONG…Does anyone know why dogs like the doorbell so much? Our pug Junior loves the doorbell, it does not depend if he hears the sound on TV, or the real thing. Is it a frequency association, or just that usually the doorbell rings when someone is coming in? I propose we label this phenonenon as one of the many great wonders of our world.
Well this is my last shot at a blog, if I don’t keep updating, then it is probably not meant for me to do this anymore. I will give it my best shot, a lot has changed in my life since I last was blogging, so I should have plenty to write about. Look forward to seeing some updates from me very soon.
